Diana E. López concentrates her practice exclusively to matrimonial law in Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties. Ms. López handles complex family law cases involving all aspects of divorce, child custody, child support, parentage, visitation, adoptions, guardianships and civil orders of protection. Ms. López commits her daily law practice to Matrimonial Law and prides herself in being able to provide quality expertise to families that need help in the litigious process as well as in the mediation/collaborative process.
From 2004-2006 she was an associate attorney for the law firm of Nancy C. Murphy & Associates working exclusively in the area of domestic relations, mediation and collaborative law. As an Assistant State's Attorney in the Office of Cook County State's Attorney, Ms. López prosecuted complex cases in juvenile court and complex child support enforcement cases from August of 2001 to May of 2004. Ms. López is currently appointed as a Guardian ad Litem in the County Division, Adoption Court and represents children's interests in adoption proceedings.
Ms. López is currently a member of the Illinois Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois. Ms. López is a graduate of Loyola University College of Law. Ms. López graduated from Loyola in May 2001 with a certificate in Child and Family law. While in law school, López was licensed under Supreme Court Rule 711-law student and handled contested cases in family law with the Cook County Public Guardian's Office and at the Child and Family Law Clinic at Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois.
Ms. López is dedicated to helping families through the process of their family legal matters.
